Someone shoot this Sifter in the face! I just found out I missed this band’s local concert by 3 days! They played this past Saturday night in a local small venue: Berbati’s Pan in downtown Portland. By tonight, they’re already in Vancouver, BC.
Yes, I would fly to see them if I had tomorrow off!
She Wants Revenge is out of Los Angeles and plays music in the same vein as all your favorite New Wave bands from the 80’s. Think: Joy Division, New Order, Bauhaus, The Cure, Depeche Mode, and even a sprinkle of Sisters of Mercy, ALL ROLLED INTO ONE!!!

Yeah, they pretty much rip off Bauhaus’ intro to Bela Lugosi’s Dead, but they do it in such a way that makes it seem fresh and adequately twisted–more of an homage than a hip-hop style, sampling jack.
Not only does this band pay tribute up the yin-yang to Depeche Mode, they’re opening up for them on their upcoming tour! O, what we would pay for tickets to Coachella….

I knew nothing about SWR, but, while at Tower, I was listening to the new albums and the first thing I thought – Did Bauhaus come back with a new name? Seriously, the first song sounds like Bela Lugosi’s Dead so much that, after I bought the album (it does have a catchy sound), I rushed back to work to see if SWR was Bauhaus revitalized. To my disappointed, it was two hip-hoppers releasing an album to get on the alternative bandwagon. However, looking beyond that, the music is good, in a goth sort of way. I would give it a 6 out of 10.
